DETROIT — Nearly a year after a firefighter was killed during a burglary, two men were sentenced and convicted for his murder.
Three people were charged with the murder of Detroit firefighter David Madrigal, 59, who was found dead in his home Dec. 21, 2015. The medical examiner determined that his cause of death was blunt-force trauma to the head, reported the Detroit Free Press.
Timmy Lynn Soto, 33, was convicted and sentenced with Magrial’s murder Wednesday. Christian Rasnick, 20, was sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison for second-degree murder, reported the Detroit News. Rasnick pleaded guilty to the charges Oct. 17.
“He dedicated his life to Detroit and had a retirement party planned when he died,” Madrigal’s daughter, Christiana, said in court this week.
Nicole Oneill, 34, is facing charges of armed robbery, third-degree arson and larceny; her trial is scheduled for March 8, 2017.
