ATLANTA — After being escorted home from the hospital last month, a firefighter battling stage 4 cancer died Tuesday.
Frank Martinez, 45, had his dying wish granted when fellow firefighters escorted him home from the hospital after treatment, reported 11Alive.
“Frank’s last wish was to see the new Squad 4 apparatus, which was put into service just a few weeks ago,” Atlanta Fire spokeswoman Janet Ward said.
Martinez served the Atlanta Fire Department for six years; he leaves behind two sons.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
