Ohio firefighter dies after on-duty heart attack
The 55-year veteran volunteer firefighter suffered a heart attack on Nov. 18 and died today
LAKEVILLE, Ohio — Firefighter Tom Rhamey succumbed to his on-duty injuries earlier today, according to the Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department. Rhamey served for more than 55 years.
Firefighter Rhamey suffered a heart attack at the scene of a Nov. 18 house fire. He was transported to the hospital and later flown to Akron where he remained in the cardiac intensive care unit. Despite making some improvement, he died Saturday.
Lakeville is part of the Western Holmes Fire District. The video is from the structure fire where Firefighter Rhamey fell ill.
