SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A dispatch system is causing communication and response issues for Washington fire and police departments.
Sno-Pac 9-1-1 was implemented in Fall 2015 to replace outdated computer systems and is supposed to provide immediate communication between first responder agencies during calls, reported myeverettnews.
However, there have been numerous instances reported by Everett and Snohomish Fire Department employees of the system crashing or failing to relay calls.
Two people were injured Wednesday in a vehicle crash, but no fire truck made it to the scene — a gap in communication officials attribute to the dispatch system.
Everett Fire Chief Murray Gordon said that he would like to continue using the system and resolve glitches over time.
