3 firefighters injured at pizzeria fire

Multiple fire departments responded to the restaurant fire Wednesday

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — A New York pizzeria suffered serious damage, leaving three firefighters injured.

Arlington Fire District Chief Tory Gallante said firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm early Wednesday morning.

Two firefighters were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, and the third was treated on scene.

A second alarm brought in firefighters from neighboring departments, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Two adjacent stores that suffered minor smoke and water damage will will be temporarily closed.

The cause of the fire that left Nonna’s Pizzeria and Restaurant heavily damaged is still under investigation. Gallante said any surveillance video the restaurant may have will be reviewed if found undamaged.
