FEATHERVILLE, Idaho — Three hot shot Utah firefighters were injured and hospitalized Saturday when a large, rolling log hit them.
One firefighter suffered serious injuries to his chest, elbow and wrist and will be off-duty for recovery for the next three weeks. A second firefighter hurt his ankle. The third firefighter was treated at the scene of the accident for head, neck and shoulders injuries, according to the Idaho Statesman.
The firefighters were three of 60 there to help with building fire lines.
The Trinity Ridge Fire has been growing since this weekend, ballooning to more than 100,000 acres. The fire has prompted hundreds of evacuations.
