PHOENIX — Six firefighters were injured Thursday while battling a blaze at a pool-supply store.
Officials said five firefighters were transported to the hospital after inhaling chlorine gas, and another received care after sustaining a knee injury.
Phoenix Fire Capt. Rob McDade told AZ Central the firefighters are in stable condition at the hospital.
The building was cleared by hazmat crews several hours after the fire, who reported there was no chlorine in the air.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
