PASADENA, Calif. — Firefighters rescued a family on Sunday that was trapped in an apartment fire that left 60 residents displaced.

The fire happened at 775 Worcester Avenue shortly around 5 p.m. Firefighters arrived to discover the fire, which was producing heavy smoke, coming from the three-story apartment building.

A family found themselves trapped on their balcony on the third floor, which was directly above the engulfed unit where the fire originated. The thickness of the smoke did not allow the family to escape through the door.
