ENFIELD, Conn. — According to Thompsonville Fire Capt. Jay Flanagan, the fire broke out around 3 p.m. Tuesday in the front porch area of the home and then spread to the first and second floors and to the attic.

Flanagan said firefighters attacked the blaze aggressively and were able to get it under control fairly quickly. Firefighters then spent a couple of hours making sure there weren’t any lingering hotspots, he said.

Flanagan said one woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after jumping out of a second-floor window.
