WASHINGTON — A D.C. firefighter was seriously injured while battling a two-alarm apartment fire Saturday.
WTOP.com reported the fire began around 8:15 p.m. in a four-unit apartment building. A firefighter who responded to the incident was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Two residents were also taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries and the other with minor injuries, according to the report.
Investigators believe the fire started on a wooden porch in the back of the building before spreading to both floors, WJLA.com reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
