SPOKANE, Wash. — A firefighter was injured after falling from the second story of a burning home Tuesday evening.
Spokane Asst. Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer told the Spokesman Review that the firefighter had been reaching to stabilize this balance along the home when he fell back 8-10 feet onto the concrete below.
The firefighter was briefly knocked unconscious and is in the hospital in stable condition.
Chief Schaeffer said that the firefighter is expected to take a bit of time off to recover before returning to duty.
No residents were injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
