Firefighter hurt after falling 25 feet through skylight

The unidentified firefighter was taken to a hospital with a severe left arm injury

DENVER, Colo. — A firefighter was injured when he fell 25 feet through the skylight of a vacant building Sunday night.

The Denver Post reported that firefighters responded to a report of a dumpster fire at 9:29 p.m. They quickly doused the flames in the dumpster, which was against the outside wall of the building.

A firefighter was checking the roof of a nearby building to be sure the fire did not spread when he stepped on a fiberglass skylight and fell 25 feet, according to the report.

The firefighter, who has not been identified, fell on his left side and received a severe left arm injury. He was taken to a hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

There was no further damage to the building, and the cause of the fire is unknown.
