LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville firefighter was nearly hit by a drunk driver while battling a fire Sunday.
WAVE3.com reported the firefighter was forced to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Kimberley Bear.
The firefighter flagged down a police officer who stopped Bear. The officer noticed an open bottle of vodka on the driver’s side and reported smelling alcohol. Bear’s blood-alcohol level was 0.24 — three times the legal limit.
Bear was charged with endangerment, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a vehicle with an expired license, possession of an open alcoholic container and failure to maintain required insurance.
