Firefighter sustains head injury at 2-alarm fire

Distance to the water supply hampered firefighting efforts

MERCER COUNTY, N.J. — A firefighter suffered a head injury battling a two-alarm townhouse fire in Mercer County, N.J. early this morning that left a woman homeless.

The fire call came in around 1:45 a.m. at the Twin Rivers development on the 400 block of Madison Drive in East Windsor, according to county dispatchers.The fire began on a second-floor of an end unit, reported NBC10’s Jesse Gary.

A woman was able to get out of the home but a firefighter needed stitches to close a head wound, firefighters on the scene told Gary.
