SUNOL, Calif. — A newlywed couple’s wedding reception included a few unexpected guests.
NBC Los Angeles reported that the couple was hosting their wedding reception in a mansion at Elliston Vineyards when a fire broke out in the attic.
The Alameda County Fire Department contained the two-alarm fire to the attic and third floor and crews stayed on scene all night to monitor hot spots.
The wedding reception was relocated to another venue nearby, and the firefighters posted to twitter to let everyone know the “bride, groom and cake” were all OK.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
