SAN DIEGO — Firefighters rescued a man hanging from a window of his burning apartment.
NBC San Diego reported that a San Diego Fire-Rescue crew used a ladder to pull the man to safety after he tried to escape the fire through his second-story window, according to Battalion Chief Dave Seneviratne.
The man, who property manager Pamela Perry said is an Army veteran, suffered smoke inhalation injuries. Two other people, including a good Samaritan who used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames, were injured in the blaze.
Perry said she is working on finding somewhere for the man to stay upon his hospital release, as his apartment is now uninhabitable.
Firefighters are working to determine the cause of the fire.
