PARSIPPANY, N.J. — An elderly man died Tuesday after a fire broke out in his home.
CBS New York reported that the man’s son was a volunteer firefighter and accompained his father to the hospital where he later died.
“It’s really the loss of a family member in a sense,” a police lieutenant said. “I knew the son.”
Two firefighters were also injured while fighting the blaze, according to the report.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
