NJ firefighter hospitalized after battling warehouse fire

Two mayday calls were made by firefighters who got lost in the building

PASSAIC, New Jersey — A firefighter was transported to the hospital after responding to a warehouse fire Sunday.

According to temporary Battalion Chief Kevin Burgos, multiple areas in the warehouse were burning, emitting heavy smoke into the air.

The sprinkler system and ventilation cleared portions of the area, but the fire was mostly concentrated near a large 75-foot long assembly line machine, reported the Record.

Four engines and two ladders responded to the scene, with help from multiple fire departments.

There were two mayday calls from firefighters who got lost inside the building.

The firefighter was taken to the hospital after feeling numbness in his hand.
