LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Liberty Township firefighter is counting his blessing after falling through the second floor of a home while fighting a fire this weekend.
“I think you just get this mindset where you react based off your training and you do what you have to do and you can think about it later,” Jon Meyer said. For 15 years Meyer has battled all types of fires, but none that left him with a serious knee injury.
“Nobody wants to get hurt. Nobody wants to at least in our field. Nobody doesn’t want to go to work and do their job,” said Meyer. “I was frustrated but that’s kind of surpassed and I know I have to keep my chin up to work through this and go through the steps and get better and get back on the job.”
