TYLER, Texas — A Tyler firefighter was injured Wednesday in a morning blaze.
Heavy fire was reported at a one-story duplex in the 310 block of Saunders Avenue at 1:40 a.m., according to a news release from the Tyler Fire Department. Six fire engines and one ladder truck, along with a district chief and investigator responded to the scene.
Investigators said they believe the fire started in the front of the building in an area that was used as a bedroom, the release states, but the exact cause remained under investigation by the Tyler Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire damaged both sides of the duplex, and the Red Cross was called to help the two families, the release states.
