Video: Firefighters face massive house fire during Sandy

One firefighter was injured while fighting the blaze

GREENWICH, Conn. — One firefighter was injured battling a large house fire whipped by 80 mph winds during Superstorm Sandy.

The volunteer firefighters worked to stop the blaze from spreading to other structures and are being hailed as heroes for their efforts, according to Greenwich Time.

The firefighter is reported to have sustained a “minor injury.”

Winds were so intense that firefighters had to stand down, but were able to save a dozen people from the blaze.

Besides the injured firefighter, no other injuries or deaths were reported.
