UTICA, N.Y. — Video shows firefighters rescuing a 4-year-old girl from her burning apartment.
The girl is in critical condition after she was the only one of her family trapped in the second-floor unit after the nine other family members made it out safely, according to WKTV.
When crews arrived, they immediately called for backup after learning that someone was trapped inside.
Using a ladder, firefighters were able to reach her and pull her out.
“The apartment created some problems we couldn’t get from one side to the other without going down the stairs and back up the stairs and that’s what crews had to do to get to the girl,” said Utica Assistant Chief George Clark. “They did a great job at getting her out and she at least has a chance at this point.”
