ST. CHARLES, Mo. — Video shows the raw footage from a Missouri firefighter’s helmet camera during a rescue of a 70-year-old woman from a burning apartment building.
Jackie Hamilton was trapped in her second-floor apartment, disoriented and unable to locate the stairs.
“Where are you?” can be heard being shouted by the firefighters as Hamilton screams “Oh god!”
Hamilton told KTVI-TV that had she stayed in the burning apartment building much longer, she likely would have died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Another resident of the building, Phillip Wilson, 53 suffered second and third-degree burns on 75 percent of his body as well as several fractures.
Wilson, in an attempt to escape from the blaze jumped off his second-story balcony while on fire. He is in critical condition.
