POULSBO, Wash. — A firefighter suffered minor injuries when he fell through the floor while battling a residential fire Tuesday.
North Kitsap Herald reported that the firefighter, with the Poulsbo (Wash.) Fire Department, fell through the first floor at the two-story triplex.
“Given the fast-moving nature of the fire, Poulsbo command called for a second alarm,” fire department spokeswoman Jody Matson said. “Command also called for a complete evacuation of all firefighters from the residence after the firefighter fell through the first floor. This summoned even more units from Kingston, Silverdale, Bremerton, and the nearby military base.”
The firefighter was treated at a hospital and later released.
A woman who was housesitting when the fire broke out suffered minor smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
