ROGERSVILLE, Mo. — After several months of deliberation, the Logan-Rogersville Fire Protection District Board of Directors announced Tuesday that part-time Fire Chief Richard Stirts will be promoted as the district’s first full-time fire chief.
Stirts, who has worked as the district’s part-time chief for the last 20 years, will transition to full-time Sept. 1. KY3.com reported that the decision was made during a special closed meeting on Sunday.
Chief Stirts, who also works for the Missouri Department of Conservation, said it was his goal to be at the department full-time. Stirts was credited for expanding the department as the community continues to grow.
