TORRINGTON, Wyo. — Barring further court action, or a trial, fire protection for the Yoder, Wyoming, community will return to its traditional status.

A preliminary injunction issued Wednesday by Eighth Judicial District Court Judge John Brooks, of Douglas, declares the Yoder Volunteer Fire Department and the Yoder Fire Protection District are separate entities and their relationship is to return to the status quo that existed prior to the upheaval brought about by conflicts over control and management of the department’s day-to-day operations. Wednesday’s action was taken during a conference call.

After considering testimony from Tuesday afternoon’s court session, Brooks reinstated the 10 original Yoder firefighters and declared the District and Department are separate entities. He also set aside the District’s Resolutions 3 and 4, which transferred the ambulance service to the District, and limited department membership to those living within the YFPD boundaries.
