DETROIT — A Detroit Fire EMS captain who was suspended after posting racist comments on Facebook will soon have his job back.
WXYZ.com reported that Capt. Tim Goodman was suspended in May after posting more than 100 allegedly racist posts, including inappropriate comments about immigrants, the religion of Islam and women.
Fire Commissioner Eric Jones said the department “moved for termination, which was then subject to the labor arbitration process under the collective bargaining agreement,” according to the report. Jones said the arbitrator “decided to reinstate [Capt. Goodman] against the recommendation of the department.”
