OZARK, Mo. — Andi Mooneyham is a firefighter in the Ozark Fire Protection District.

“The thought of getting to go really fast on a truck with lights and sirens has always been amazing for any kid, myself included,” Mooneyham said. Andi’s been doing her dream job for eight years and has worked her way up to captain of the ‘A shift.’

Her fire chief, Darren White has nothing but compliments for Mooneyham. “She’s a great firefighter, a great captain,” White says. “Andi’s a wonderful employee. Couldn’t tell you a bad thing about her. She’s a nice person, good employee, very dependable, everything you’d want in an employee,” says Dale Bittle, one of the five members of the Ozark Fire Protection District Board. Apart from being a firefighter with EMT training, Andi Mooneyham also happens to be gay.
