CORTLAND, N.Y. — An Ithaca firefighter faces misdemeanor charges for threatening firefighters from another department last week.
Firefighter Daryl Pace, 33, is accused of standing in her driveway with a gun in a threatening manner while Cortland firefighters tested a nearby hydrant. The firefighters left once they saw the gun.
Pace’s gun was confiscated by police, and she was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration and second-degree menacing, reported the Ithaca Voice.
Pace will remain employed and on active duty.
“We didn’t see that there was a threat to her, to our employees or the community as a whole,” Ithaca Fire Chief Tom Parsons said.
Parsons said that if Pace is found guilty on any of the charges, it will not impact her employment with the department, as the charges are misdemeanors.
