FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — A Framingham firefighter is fighting for his life after a hit and run crash.
Joseph Keefe, a 26-year veteran, was out riding his motorcycle when a van pulled out in front of him and then took off. The driver later turned himself in, but police say he was drunk. “I can’t believe it could happen to such a nice guy,” said Deputy Fire Chief Anthony Pillarella. Authorities say 55-year-old Peter Fucci cut him off causing the two to collide.
“First disbelief, and then my heart just sank once I started learning about the extent of the accident,” said Pillarella. Police say he was wearing his helmet but the impact caused multiple injuries. His family says he was communicating by squeezing his hand.
