CHICAGO — A Chicago firefighter was injured by a tree limb during a fire on the city’s South Side, according to the fire department.
The fire occurred on Oct. 25 in the Burnside neighborhood. Firefighters were fighting a fire on the second floor of a residential structure when a tree limb fell, striking a firefighter, CBS Chicago reported.
The injured firefighter was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in serious to critical condition, according to department officials.
