SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Two boys are being blamed for a brush fire that burned 28 acres in Lakeside on Sunday.
Cal Fire says the boys — aged 10 and 11 — were playing with a lighter when the fire started. However, neighbors heard a different story. They say the boys blamed for the fire started it with a bullet.
“They opened up a bullet and lit the gunpowder,” said neighbor Madison Stowers. Stowers lives across the street from where the fire started and told 10News that she knows both of the boys. “They went and confessed to one of the firefighters,” she said. “They told them what happened and what they did.”
