Swissphone’s newest generation personal emergency call system combines the advantages of three technologies in one solution. Paging continues to be a fast and reliable alert method, but GSM and GPS modules opens up innovative solutions for occupational safety.
Safety at work is a top priority for all organizations. In case of an accident, they must ensure that their employees receive immediate assistance. This applies especially to lone workers operating in remote locations. It is important for these employees to have access to help and for fast and efficient assistance; it must be possible to locate the employee. Swissphone’s personal emergency call system is a solution designed specifically to meet these requirements.
Manual and automatic emergency calls
The new personal emergency call system features a GSM emergency call function and a GPS receiver module. If after an accident an employee is able to act, they can push an SOS button to request immediate assistance. In addition to the emergency alert, the geographical coordinates are transmitted and displayed on a map in the operations control centre. The control centre dispatcher can promptly request suitable support from the responsible rescue unit by page, e-mail or SMS.
Contrarily, if the injured is rendered unconscious, an emergency alert will be triggered automatically. For these situations the emergency call system features position, movement, and acceleration sensors that automatically trigger an emergency alert if a fall is detected or no movement is detected for a programmed period of time.
Periodic and continual life checking
The emergency call system can be programmed to trigger a pre-alert at a specified time interval. This alert is both visual and audible and must be acknowledge by the employee. If the alert goes unanswered, an alarm is automatically triggered in the control centre.
The new personal emergency call system also features a geofencing option. Here, the system responds when a person leaves or enters a predefined area. This function is particularly useful in residential, care and senior citizens’ homes. The system gives the elderly a high sense of mobility, ensuring that the right people will be notified if they wander too far from home.
