LYNN, Mass. — Two men trapped inside a car when a garage roof collapsed in Massachusetts have been rescued.
Lynn fire Lt. David Legere says the men were rescued at about 8:15 a.m. on Thursday and taken by ambulance to a hospital as a precaution even though he does not believe they are injured. They were trapped for about two hours.
Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy says the garage houses vehicles owned by a senior services agency and the trapped men arrived at work to warm up the vehicles. Their names were not released.
A number of other workers escaped.
The nonprofit agency transports elderly residents of the town 10 miles northeast of Boston to appointments and delivers meals.
Legere says it appears that the weight of snow on the roof is to blame.
