BARNHART, Mo. — Four firefighters were injured after a vehicle struck a fire truck that was responding to a fire Wednesday.

Firefighters were returning from a brush fire call and pulling into their fire station when they noticed a house on fire, reported My Leader Paper.

While en route, another vehicle failed to yield and struck the left side of the rig. Police said the fire truck had its lights and sirens activated.

The four firefighters and driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. A fifth firefighter injured his shoulder when he slipped while attempting to get into a different fire truck.

No one was home at the house fire; officials are investigating the cause.
