5 Pa. firefighters hurt after fire truck catches fire

No firefighters were seriously hurt and officials are investigating the cause of the fire

BRYN MAWR, Pa. — Five firefighters were taken to the hospital after their fire truck caught fire Saturday night.

NBC Philadelphia reported that members of the Gladwyne (Pa.) Fire Company were heading back from a non-fire call when their fire truck’s engine suddenly caught fire. The firefighters quickly got out of the rig and other crews responded to the scene.

Responding firefighters were able to place the fire under control.

The firefighters were transported to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, but none of them were seriously hurt.

Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
