LONDON — Two firefighters were taken to the hospital and another was treated at the scene when their fire truck crashed into a building Tuesday afternoon.
The crew from Poplar Fire Station was answering reports of a fire in London’s Canary Wharf when their rig veered off the road and crashed into a tower run by a financial investment firm, Mirror.co.uk reported.
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We sent an ambulance crew, a duty officer and the hazardous area response team to the scene. We treated a man for a hand injury and another man for a leg injury.”
No other vehicles were involved in the incident and the call turned out to be a false alarm.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
