Fla. firefighter injured battling brush fire

The firefighter was injured after he was thrown from a truck and is being hospitalized for a possible broken collarbone

INDIANTOWN, Fla. — A firefighter was injured after being called out to a burning brush fire Wednesday.

WFLX reported that the firefighter was injured after he was thrown from a truck and is being hospitalized for a possible broken collarbone.

Firefighters were worried about dry grass in the area and said recent cold weather killed grass making it vulnerable for quick ignition, according to the report.

The blaze spread to 50 acres and was 100 percent contained by 5 p.m.

Florida Power and Light was also called to the scene to deal with downed power lines, according to the report.
