SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. — Two firefighters were injured after the fire truck they were in crashed Friday morning.

LakeExpo.com reported that the two Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District firefighters sustained minor injuries, with the most serious being a fracture. Both firefighters were taken to a hospital and later released.

The fire truck, according to Fire Chief Dennis Reilly, was totaled.

“Today was a very tough day for the members of our district,” Chief Reilly said. “We would like to thank all the agencies who responded to assist us.”

Overnight drizzle hit the already frigid region, causing slick roads during an impending winter storm.
