STAR VALLEY, Ariz. — A firefighter died Saturday during a wildland fire training exercise.
MyPhoenix.com reported that Bobby Mollere, 61, with the Hellsgate Fire Department, was taking part in a wildland fire training exercise Saturday morning when he reportedly collapsed. His fellow firefighters were not able to resuscitate him, according to the report.
A spokesperson with department said firefighter Mollere lived in the Phoenix area with his wife, but that he would drive up to Star Valley several days a week to work with the department, according to the report.
Firefighter Mollere was with the department for nearly twelve years. A memorial is planned in Phoenix, according to the report.
