BALTIMORE — The Baltimore City Fire Department battled a five-alarm blaze, which caused one building to collapse and damaged two others.
The blaze broke out Sept. 2 at North Howard and West Fayette streets, engulfing two four-story structures and a smaller adjoining building before one of the larger buildings collapsed, WBAL reported.
Because the abandoned aging structures were unsafe, crews tackled the blaze from outside to protect firefighters, OEM director Joey Henderson said.
