BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Two firefighters with Glynn County Rescue were injured after getting trapped in a flashover, First Coast News reports.
When firefighters arrived at the scene of a house fire on Saturday evening, a full-alarm dispatch was requested.
Firefighters were inside the house searching for potential victims when a flashover trapped two crewmembers, identified as William Spooner, 34, and Nathan Desrosiers, 22.
A mayday was then called, Glynn County Rescue said.
Glynn County Fire Chief Vincent DiCristofalo told First Coast News that the firefighters suffered second-degree burns on their shoulders, necks, ears, hands and arms, but were discharged from the hospital Saturday night to continue recovery at home.
