A South Jordan firefighter was discovered unconscious in his room

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — A South Jordan firefighter has died after being found unresponsive while on duty at his firehouse, city officials confirmed.

The firefighter was discovered unconscious in his room by fellow firefighters the afternoon of April 19 at Station 61, KUTV reported.

Despite immediate life-saving efforts and transport to a Jordan Valley Hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

City officials say the cause of death has not yet been determined and is under investigation.
