NY FF bails out of window after mayday call
Buffalo firefighters were battling a blaze at a 2 1/2 story building when the mayday call was made

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo firefighters needed an hour to contain a two-alarm fire that broke out in a 2 1/2-story structure at 698 Prospect Ave. at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to social media posts, a Mayday call was canceled after a firefighter bailed out of a window and was accounted for.
A tweet from Spectrum News said the "very large" fire was on the first floor and that it was hard to see through the thick smoke.
