KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A firefighter witnessed an unsettling live feed of thieves breaking into his home over the weekend.

Firefighter Ryan Koehler was on-duty when he received a text alerting him of movement in his living room, reported WREG.

“I was like, ‘Oh, it’s just the dog walking around.’ That’s when I saw them kick in the door. I literally just started shaking,” Koehler said.

The video shows two men ringing the doorbell before kicking the door in — unaware of the camera. The suspects are seen taking Koehler’s TV and leaving with other electronics. The family’s dog was inside the home at the time of the theft.

“It’s nerve-wracking. Kind of makes you sick to your stomach. When my wife comes home she checks every door, looks under the bed,” Koehler said.

Koehler filed a police report and authorities are investigating the incident. Officials said other homes in the area have also been robbed and believe it could be the same suspects.
