KHARKIV, Ukraine — Following a heavy shelling attack by Russian forces in the city, Ukrainian firefighters began searching the rubble and putting out fires, when they found – and fell for – an abandoned puppy in one of the damaged buildings.
Crews named him Bayraktar, after a Turkish drone, but reportedly everyone calls him "Bye" for short. He enjoys "hotdogs and rescuer's shoes," Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, wrote in a Tweet.
