Calling all fire photographers: FireRescue1 wants to see your pictures! The next time you come across something inspiring, take out the camera and submit it to FireRescue1! Just remember to include your name, agency information and brief background information on the picture.
This week’s Photo of the Week shows a drone light show in Philadelphia honoring first responders and healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The show was put on by Verge Aero, a high-performance drone show company based out of the University of Pennsylvania’s Pennovation Works offices.
The show included 136 drones forming messages and images up to 400 feet above the ground, according to the company. In addition to spelling out “Thank U Heroes” and “#LightItBlue,” the show also included images of dancing hearts, Philly landmarks, a hand-washing reminder and a chart showing a flattening curve.
The show was launched from Philadelphia’s Franklin Field football stadium, adjacent to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
