La. firefighter crashes department vehicle into house

GRAND MARAIS, La. — A firefighter crashed a fire department vehicle while he was allegedly intoxicated.

KATC reported that Trevor Olivier, 31, with the Grand Marais Volunteer Fire Department, crashed the vehicle into a residence Sunday around 5 a.m. The vehicle hit a child’s bedroom, but no one was home at the time of the crash.

Olivier was booked on multiple charges, including unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.

The fire chief with the department said Olivier was not authorized to drive the department vehicle.
