2021 timeline: The ‘Year of COVID’ becomes the ‘Year of the Vaccine’

In December 2020, after nearly a year of dealing with the devastation of COVID-19, the first vaccine was approved for emergency use, offering the world its first bit of hope for a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel.

From early discussions of who to prioritize with the initial rollout, to vaccine clinic scale-ups and the race to determine the efficacy of vaccines on new variants, 2021 was certainly the Year of the Vaccine.
