SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — A Redding woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with 14 fires that occurred in the Shasta County area over the past week and a half.
Tracey Webb, 34, was arrested Monday by California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection personnel. Webb is accused of starting fires in the Highway 299 and Old Oregon Trail area, according to a Cal Fire news release. She was booked into Shasta County Jail.
Cal Fire officials urge residents to be alert to suspicious people in the area when a fire starts. They are advised not to approach the person but to report the activity to authorities along with the time, the person’s physical description and a vehicle description, including the license plate number.
